The latest leaks for Xiaomi Mi 5 consist of pictures and more details of the specs
Xiaomi Mi 5 is yet to enter the tech arena but some of the specs of the smartphone are already revealed in a few leaks that surfaced in the last weeks. The upcoming handset sports a stylish design with very slim bezels and a position of the home button similar to the smartphones of the rival company Meizu. Some of rumored specs of Xiaomi Mi 5 were recently confirmed by the CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun.
The newest leak of the unannounced flagship gives a glimpse on the inners of the device in a photo. The specs of the smartphone are expected to feature a powerful hardware configuration. While the rumors from some weeks ago suggested that Xiaomi Mi 5 works with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip under the hood, Lei Jun made the hint that this might not be true after all. The rest of the rumored specs include a 20MP rear camera of the smartphone.
It is expected to boast a Quad HD display. What we can see from the leaked photo the screen is slightly curved. The provided RAM in the device is 3GB. It is a sure guess to make that the Xiaomi Mi 5 is running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. There is no doubt that we will see the latest MIUI user interface running on top of the Google’s platform. Among the extra features that are integrated in the flagship is a fingerprint sensor.
Rumors have it that the Chinese manufacturer might present the high-end smartphone at CES 2016 in Las Vegas at the beginning of the next year. There are also gossips that the flagship will not be ready for sells until April 2016. In terms of price, it is expected that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will cost more than its predecessors at launch. The reason for this is the changing reputation of the Chinese manufacturer as a producer to more premium devices instead of budget smartphones and tablets.
