The new update watchOS 2 is here
Better late than never, right? After a slight delay from the original plans, Apple finally released the first major update of its platform for smartwatches. watchOS 2 is rolling out to the Apple Watch. Users can check for the update manually by selecting from the main menu General > Software Update. Before you proceed to installing the watchOS 2 be sure that your Apple Watch is at least 50% charged. You must connect the device to the charger in order for the software to be installed properly.
The watchOS is one of the youngest platforms in the tech world. The only smartwatch that is running on it so far is the Apple Watch. Therefore, it is not a surprise that the watchOS 2 is actually the first big update of the software. Among the new features included in the platform is the option to run third-party apps. Users can use their own pictures for watch faces.
One of the interesting new features is the Time Travel which enables you to browse through past or future events set in your smartwatch. The watchOS 2 brings the Nightstand mode that displays different useful features, like the date and the alarms in large text. Have you installed it yet? We are eager to hear your impressions.
