The Chinese manufacturer vivo presented the vivo X6S and vivo X6S Plus
Are you ready for more awesome smartphones from China? One of the biggest local companies, vivo has just took the wraps off the vivo X6S and its large sibling, the vivo X6S Plus. The main advantage of both new handsets is the advanced audio hardware, but for that, in a moment.
The exterior of the new smartphones is practically the same as the design of the predecessors, the vivo X6 and vivo X6 Plus. They sport sleek designs with panels made of metal.
The vivo X6S and the X6S Plus are outfitted with Super AMOLED screens with FullHD resolution. The size of the first model is 5.2-inch while the bigger device sports a 5.7-inch display. The processor that powers the new handsets is Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 which replaces the MediaTek MT6752 chip that vivo used in the vivo X6 and X6 Plus. There are 4GB RAM on board. The assured storage by default in the new models is either 32GB or 64GB. For expansion of the memory can be used microSD cards. Software-wise, both new smartphones arrive with Android 5.1 Lollipop OS pre-installed which is a bit disappointing keeping in mind that Android 6.0 Marshmallow’s been official for some time now.
Key selling points of the flagships
One of the key selling points of the new phones is the advanced audio tech. The vivo X6S is outfits with an AKM4375 32-bit DAC while the bigger device boasts an ES9028 DAC within YAMAHA YSS-205X audio processor. The main camera on the back of the X6S and X6S Plus is with a resolution of 16MP, up from 13MP in the old models. The front-facing camera is an 8MP snapper. The backplate of the devices is home of a fingerprint sensor. The batteries that provide juice for the smartphones are with a capacity of 2400mAh for the X6S, and 3000mAh for the X6S Plus. The available colors include: gold, pink and silver.
The vivo X6S costs CNY 2598 ($400). The vivo X6S Plus will be offered at a price of CNY 2998 ($470). The shipping is beginning on April 5th.
