The upcoming Microsoft Lumia 650 with entry-level specs appeared in a new leak
The flagships Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL were much anticipated by users. After the first Windows-powered smartphones made their official debut in October, Microsoft seems ready to present a new handset running on Windows, this time, a low-end model. The rumor mill delivered a juicy leak with alleged render photos of the unannounced Microsoft Lumia 650. The upcoming device sports a stylish design with a metal band around the edges. The expected specs of the Lumia 650 include a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 720 pixels.
The CPU that works under the hood of the entry-level handset is a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz with Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 chip and 1GB RAM. The 8GB storage provided by default in the device seems rather modest for a modern smartphone. Therefore there is a slot for microSD cards that enables expansion. The platform running on Lumia 650 is Windows 10 Mobile. The main camera of the phone is with 8MP resolution and a LED flash. It is set on the back of the device. Above the display is located a 5MP snapper for selfies and video calls. Microsoft Lumia 650 is a dual-SIM smartphone. It supports Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi calling, Bluetooth, GPS and 3G connectivity.
Users can take advantage from the Quick Charge 2.0 support as well. The colors for the new smartphone will be Matte Black and Matte White. The looks and the specs of the Microsoft Lumia 650 present it as budget device with premium feel.
The announcement of the upcoming handset is expected to happen in the beginning of the next year. It is unlikely that the revealing of the phone will happen at CES 2016. Rumors have it that the US carrier Cricket Wireless will release the Lumia 650 in April 2016. We will wait and see.
