Sony Xperia M4 Aqua goes official

Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is officially introduced at MWC 2015

Last year Sony introduced the flagship Sony Xperia Z2 along with the Xperia Z2 Tablet. Although the company made the hint that the upcoming Sony Xperia Z4 will not debut at the event this year, many believed that the manufacturer might change its plans. Well, that didn’t happen, but the good news is that the Xperia Z4 Tablet debuted along with a new smartphone, the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua. The capabilities and the specs of the handset put it in the mid-ranger category with more high-end specs than the rival devices on the same arena. It is dust- and water-resistant (IP68 certificate).

Xperia M4 Aqua has IPS glass with 5.2-inch diagonal, 720p resolution. The processor in the smartphone is octa-core with 64-bit, Qualcomm Snapdragon 615chip. The more detailed specs of the hardware include quad-cores Cortex-A53 set at 1.5GHz and four cores ticking at 1.0GHz. Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop. The storage assured in the phone is 8GB for the more modest variant and 16GB for those who prefer more memory. There is a microSD slot in both variants of the handset.

The main camera of the mid-ranger is set on the back with 13MP sensor made by Sony. It has LED flash and abundance of features. The front-facing snapper of the new addition of Sony is with 5MP. Xperia M4 Aqua is 4G LTE-enabled. It boasts a 2400mAh battery. Sony is releasing the smartphone in few weeks from now. It costs €299 and will be available in black, white, silver and coral colors.
