Cat S50c goes for sells at Verizon, at a price of $400
Back in 2014 Cat’s unveiled the rugged smartphone Cat S50. Now the company is launching the improved version of the rugged handset, the Cat S50c. It is getting released by the US carrier Verizon Wireless. As expected, the Car S50c is very well protected against all kinds of damaging factors, like extreme temperatures, shock and drops. It has IP67 certificate and it meet the standards for MIL-SPEC 810G. It can survive a “dive” in 1.2m deep water for 30 min. The specs of Cat S50c include a 4.7-inch diagonal of the display. The resolution of the screen is 720 pixels. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
It is provided with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The configuration includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip working with 1GB RAM. The storage assured in the rugged smartphone is 8GB. Users can use microSD cards for expansion of the native memory.
The new handset of Cat is powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. S50c is outfitted with an 8MP primary camera with LED flash. On the front panel is positioned a 2MP secondary camera. The battery of the device is with a capacity of 2630mAh. The connectivity capabilities of the smartphone include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G and 4G LTE. Verizon is releasing the Cat S50c at a price of $399.99 off-contract. It is already up-for-sell at the carrier. If we sum up the rugged capabilities of the new smartphone, it is protected against thermal shocks, dust, water, salt mist, extreme temperatures, humidity and drops. It is a great basic Android device for users who love outdoor activities, athletes and etc.
