Google is rolling-out the Android Wear 5.1.1 with significant improvements
Last month we shared the news for the announcement of the new major update of the first platform for wearable tech Android Wear 5.1.1 version. It is packed with abundance of features and significant improvements. Among the most impressive new capabilities of the platform is support for Wi-Fi.
The wearables that have the needed hardware will be able to get notifications from the smartphone even if they are apart, but both connected to internet. The smartwatches that can take advantage from this improvement are: LG Watch Urbane, Motorola Moto 360, Samsung Gear Live and Sony Smartwatch 3.
To enjoy Wi-Fi support, make sure it is enabled in your Android Wear companion app:
Open Android Wear app on your phone
Go to Settings (gear icon in upper-right corner)
Tap on Cloud sync
New launcher and wrist gestures support is also present in the Android Wear 5.1.1. Users can draw emojis and they can change font size for more fulfilling user experience. The support for always-on apps makes working with the smartwatch more pleasant and easier than ever. The update is rolling out to the devices.
