Gionee Marathon M5 mini enters the tech arena in Nigeria
A new smartphone of the Chinese manufacturer Gionee was just introduced in Nigeria. The device is named Gionee Marathon M5 mini, and as you have probably guessed, it is the mini variant of the original Gionee Marathon M5 with two batteries released last summer. It comes in a stylish metal body and features a huge battery with a capacity of 4000mAh. The dimensions of the panel of the handset are: 143.5 x 71 x 9.6 mm.
Marathon M5 mini boasts a 5-inch IPS screen, 720p. In the gut of the handset is provided a quad-core processor with MediaTek MT6735 chip with 64-bith architecture. The smartphone has 2GB RAM on board as part of the hardware configuration and 16GB of expandable native memory. The OS pre-installed on the Marathon M5 mini is Android 5.1 Lollipop. Gionee has customized it with Amigo UI 3.1. The cameras included in the device are what to be expected from a low end smartphone – an 8MP rear snapper with LED flash and a 5MP camera on the front panel. We already mentioned the battery, but it is worth it to say it again.
The new addition of the Marathon series works with a 4000mAh cell under the hood which has the capabilities to keep it up-and-running for a few days in normal use. The connectivity features in the model include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 3G. It is getting launched in three colors – white, black and gold. Gionee Marathon M5 mini is a dual-SIM smartphone. The launching of the device is expected in February in Nigeria. The price remains a mystery for now.
