The Samsung’s platform Tizen is getting a new update
Tizen OS is one of the youngest platforms in the digit world. Even though we are yet to see the first smartphones (the first smartwatches are released) running on Tizen OS, the platform developed by Samsung is getting improved with new updates and interface. The Tizen OS is based on the TouchWiz UI that runs on the top of the Android-powered devices of Samsung. Samsung Z was expected to be the first handset working on the mobile OS of Samsung. However the announcement of the phone was delayed for unknown time. Rumors have it that the first smartphone running on the platform will be a mid-ranger with WVGA or higher resolution of the display.
The latest news about the platform reveals a new update with improved features and appearance. Screenshots of the interface were shared by Tizen Indonesia. They show more vivid colors and round icons. The main color used in the UI is blue. The big developers’ conference of Samsung that took place in San Francisco revealed that the first smartphones running on Samsung’s mobile OS that will be released will boast low-end to mid-ranged specs at similar prices as the models of the Android One program (around $100).
When can we expect to see the debut of the smartphones powered by the platform? The company made hints that they are coming in November. The rumored code-name of one of the devices is Samsung SM-Z130H. It is equipped with a 5-inch screen. The processor working in the unannounced phone is dual-core 1.2GHz with Spreadtrum SC7727S chip and ARM Mali-400 GPU set at 460MHz paired with 512MB RAM. Hopefully in few weeks from now the Tizen-powered smartphone will enter the mobile arena. Stay tuned.
