Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus are the new flagships of the Chinese manufacturer
Have you seen all the teasers and leaks for Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus? The Chinese manufacturer managed to keep attention on the unannounced devices for weeks without revealing everything about the models but giving some idea for what to expect from the flagships. No more waiting, Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus made their official debut today in Beijing, China. The new smartphones sport similar specs but come in different sizes. They are premium handsets with beautiful design metal unibody construction made from premium materials.
Oppo R7 is the smaller in size new flagship. It sports a stylish panel with dimensions 143 x 71 x 6.3 mm and 147 grams of weight. It boasts a 5-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080p and 2.5D glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. On the inside is ticking an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.5GHz with Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chip and 3GB RAM. Oppo R7 has 16GB internal memory with a slot for microSD cards. The main camera of the handset is on the back of the device, a 13MP sensor with Schneider-Kreuznach lens and LED flash, and phase detection autofocus. It is coupled with 8MP snapper on front. The new smartphone is powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop. The connectivity features equipped in the model include 4G LTE as well as GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The battery tucked in the model is with a capacity of 2320mAh. Oppo R7 and its sibling Oppo R7 Plus support VOOC charging that can get power for 2 hours in talking mode for just 5 minutes charging. It is getting released in Silver and Golden colors.
Oppo R7 Plus sports edge-to-edge design with Full HD resolution of the 6-inch AMOLED screen. The size of the phablet is 158 x 82 x 7.8 mm, 203 grams. It is powered by the same processor that is ticking under the hood of R7 along with the same amount of RAM – 3GB. The phablet is provided with a fingerprint scanner on the backplate. The camera is slightly more high-end on Oppo R7 Plus. The 13MP sensor has dual-LED flash and laser autofocus. The Oppo R7 Plus works with 4100mAh cell in its belly. The software and the connectivity capabilities are the same for both new additions of Oppo. They run on the Google’s platform customized with Color OS v2.1.
Oppo is releasing the smartphones tomorrow in China. They will be up-for-grabs in JD.com. The Oppo R7 costs CNY 2499 (around $400) while the phablet R7 Plus bears the price tag of $480. Next month both models will land on international markets.
