Samsung took the wraps off from the low-end Samsung Galaxy J1 in Malaysia

Samsung Galaxy J1 officially arrives in the digit world packed with entry-level specs and compact body with slick design. The WVGA screen of the first device from the Galaxy J series has 4.3-inch diagonal. It boasts a resolution of 800 x 480p. The phone is powered by a dual-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with 512MB RAM.

The internal memory by default in Galaxy J1 is 4GB. Users can expanded with up to 128GB by adding microSD cards. The operating system that “runs the show” in Samsung Galaxy J1 is Android 4.4 KitKat. Among the interesting features of the software are the Palm Selfie capability and the Tap to Take Pics. The first function provides an easy way for taking selfies by support for hand gesture. The second function enables users to take photos by tapping anywhere on the screen. Samsung Galaxy J1 is provided with Ultra Power Saving mode.

Let’s talk about the cameras equipped in the new handset. It is armed with a 5MP snapper on the back enriched with LED flash. On the face side of the phone lies a 2MP camera that works very well for selfies and video calls. The budget device comes equipped with a 1850mAh battery. It assures connectivity features for Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, Bluetooth and 3G. The first market that will welcome the Galaxy J1 is Malaysia. The launch date and the price are yet to be revealed. The color choices for the model include white, blue and black.
