Intex Aqua Fish is the newest smartphone that runs on Sailfish OS. It is coming in the end of the year.
The Mobile World Congress Shanghai is one of the big summer tech events in Asia. Among the most interesting announcements at the exhibition is the debut of the first smartphone powered by the newest update of Sailfish OS 2.0. The new addition to the Sailfish family comes from the Indian manufacturer Intex and has the name Intex Aqua Fish.
It will heat up the competition on the developing markets on the arena with affordable Android-powered smartphones. The new handset comes with a 4.7-inch screen with a resolution of 720p. It is armored with Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chip paired with 1GB RAM under the hood. Intex Aqua Fish boasts 8GB internal memory, which is expandable via microSD cards.
The smartphone is 4G LTE-enabled along with 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. It arrives with two cameras – a primary snapper with 8MP resolution and a 2MP camera for video calls. Aqua Fish is powered by 2300mAh cell. The earliest time we can expect to see the smartphone on the markets is September although there are rumors that Intex might release it in November. It will go for sells with the price tag of Rs 15000 (around $235). In general Aqua Fish has a lot of the capabilities and features of the Jolla Phone and it can be considered as more advanced version of the original device that runs on Sailfish OS. The smartphone will be released in Russia, India and other markets worldwide.
