One of the leading companies, manufacturers of beverages in the world, Pepsi confirmed to Reuters the rumors that it is planning to launch its own smartphone, Pepsi P1. It won’t be manufacturing the device but instead the company will be license its brand to another firm.
Pepsi is doing its best to keep the mystery around the smartphone without revealing any information about the upcoming smartphone. The company confirmed that the device will run on Android but the rest of the specs we know from rumors. The expectations suggest that the Pepsi P1 is a 5.5-incher with 1080p display. It is powered by MediaTek MT6592 chip in configuration with 2GB RAM. The phone boasts 16GB internal memory.
The battery of Pepsi P1 is expected to be with a capacity of 3000mAh. Rumors have it that the upcoming smartphone will be outfitted with a 13MP camera on the back and a 5MP front-facing camera. The software pre-installed on the device should be Android 5.1 Lollipop. Pepsi did not give a hint of when the smartphone will be released. The expected price of the mid-ranger is around $205. The company will offer the model and different accessories for it in China. A recent leak from the Chinese social network Weibo suggests that Pepsi will make an announcement next Tuesday. Hopefully the company will reveal more details about its first smartphone. We will wait and see.
