A new leak reveals a possible overheating issue with HTC One M9 caused by Snapdragon 810
Soon after the official announcement of the high-end flagship HTC One M9 surfaced reports for an overheating issue with the model. In the last months there have been rumors that the powerful new chip Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 might cause overheating. A Dutch website shared results from provided GFXBench benchmark test on several different smartphones, including LG G3, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, HTC One (M8) and Apple iPhone 6 Plus along with the HTC One M9. The temperature that the One M9 is reaching at some point is 55 Celsius degrees at highest. This means that the phone is difficult to hold for a long time.
In the provided result the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 delivered the best results by being the coolest of the bunch – only 37.8 Celsius degrees. HTC did not wait long until commenting the shared reports. The online communications ‘chief of HTC, Jeff Gordon went on twitter to share that the tested device HTC One M9 was running on software that was not finished yet. There is a good chance that the company will fix the problem in the last version of the software and the One M9 will launch without any issues of this kind. We will wait and see.
