Two new mid-rangers with awesome designs – Oppo Neo 5 (2015) and Oppo Neo 5s
A new attractive couple of mid-rangers of Oppo entered the tech arena. Oppo Neo 5 (2015) and Oppo Neo 5s sport similar designs and specs. Both new handsets are outfitted with 4.5-inch IPS screens with a resolution of 480 x 854p. The pixel density of the displays is 218ppi. The mid-rangers stand out with an appealing design with the renowned double-later metallic structure with laminated reflective back plate that gives more premium look and feel to the devices. The size of both new additions of Oppo is 131.9 x 65.5 x 8.0mm / 135 grams of weight.
In terms of memory, the Neo 5 (2015) and Neo 5s come with 1GB RAM and 8GB expandable native storage. Among the specs that both devices share are the cameras. They have an 8MP main snapper with f/2.2 lens and LED flash, set on the back. It is paired with a 2MP secondary camera on front with f/2.8 aperture. The type of battery integrated in both handsets is a non-removable Li-Po 2000mAh cell. The software running on the couple of smartphones is Android 4.4.2 KitKat with ColorOS v2.0.1 on top.
The differences between the new models are in the processors and in the connectivity capabilities. Oppo Neo 5 (2015) is armed with quad-core CPU 1.3GHz with MediaTek MT6582 chip. It supports 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity features (No LTE). Its sibling, the Oppo Neo 5s is provided with quad-core processor with Snapdragon 410 chip (this is what gives the “s” in the name of the model). The smartphone supports 4G LTE connectivity.
