Amazon released a new update of Fire OS
Almost five months ago Amazon launched a major update of the Fire OS with significant improvements in the platform. The company has just announced a new update of its mobile Fire OS. The Fire OS 4.6.1 is rolling-out to the Amazon Fire Phone. It brings the device up to Android 4.4 KitKat which is a significant improvement from Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The goodies packed in the update include support for Bluetooth Low Energy, color emoji in the default keyboard of Amazon, improved screen notifications, the option to change the wallpaper of the homescreen etc. Those of you who own Amazon Fire Phone can check for the update or install it manually via the PC with USB connection. The current price of the device is $189 but the company is holding frequent sales for it that offers it for $99.
