The US mobile operator Verizon Wireless joined the tablets’ arena with a mid-ranger 7-incher released last year. Verizon Wireless Ellipsis 7 sports a 7-inch display with a resolution of 800 x 1280p. It works with a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz and 1GB RAM. There is a slot for microSD cards that can be used for expansion of the 8GB provided out-of-the-box. The platform that works on the Ellipsis 7 is Android 4.2.2. It is powered by a large cell with a capacity of 4000mAh.

The tablet is LTE-enabled. It is provided with a 3.2MP rear camera and a VGA snapper on the front. This summer rumors for a new variant of the slate drew attention. According to sources the US carrier is teaming up with the manufacturer Quanta for the producing of a larger version of the tablet – the 8-incher Verizon Wireless Ellipsis 8. The new model was recently spotted on the website of Verizon. In terms of specs the mid-ranger is equipped with a 8-inch screen with a resolution of 800 x 1280p. This is the same resolution of the display of the Ellipsis 7 which means that the pixel density of the new device is a bit lower – 189ppi. The processor ticking in the heart of the slate is a quad-core 1.5GHz.

It supports a slot for microSD cards. The model has two cameras – a rear snapper with a 5MP resolution and a front-facing sensor. Ellipsis 8 supports LTE connectivity. It works with a vast battery with 5000mAh capacity. Verizon offers the tablet for $149.99 with signed contract for two years. The retail price of the Ellipsis 8 without commitment is $249.99. The tablet is expected to go for sells in a few weeks from now when the big shopping for the winter holidays begins.
