Sony Xperia X Performance, Xperia X and Xperia XA are the new stars of the Japanese manufacturer
Did you expect to see the new flagships of the Sony Xperia Z series revealed at MWC 2016? Most of us did. Sony had other plans, and instead of the new generation of Xperia Z high-end devices, the company presented the Xperia X line. The manufacturer broke the news that it is no longer continuing the Z series. The new flagships of the X line will begin “a new chapter and evolution” in the history of Sony. The first additions of the new series include the smartphones Sony Xperia X Performance, Sony Xperia X and the Sony Xperia XA.
The models have a lot to offer to Sony’s users to suit their highest expectations. One of the special features of the three devices is the unique battery tech they use that enriches the battery life to up to two days – a quality that only a few flagships can be proud of. In addition, Sony has packed in the smartphones the Qnovo Adaptive Charging tech that is supposed to expand the lifespan of the cells.
Sony Xperia X Performance definitely steals the spotlight with its advanced specs, fast performance and attractive looks. It is dressed in a waterproof case with IP68 certificate, made of metal & glass. This is one of the characteristics that differs the Xperia X from the Xperia Z series – the latter features designs made primarily of glass.
The Xperia X Performance sports a 5-inch display, 1080p resolution. The processor that powers the flagship is with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip paired with 3GB RAM. It arrives with 32GB memory by default. Sony has included a slot for microSD cards in the device for storage expansion. In terms of software, the Xperia X Performance runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. The cameras of the device are among its most impressive features. It is outfitted with a main rear sensor with 23MP resolution and the so called Predictive Hybrid Autofocus feature with the functionality to automatically track the object that is on focus. The selfie-lovers won’t be disappointed as well. Sony has added a 13MP front-facing camera with “Sony’s renowned low-light sensors” for better selfies than ever. The battery in the gut of Xperia X Performance is with a capacity of 2700mAh. Among the extra specs packed in the device is a fingerprint reader. The colors that will adorn the new flagships are white and graphite black.
The second new device of the hot trio is the Sony Xperia X. It borrows a lot of the specs and capabilities of its sibling; however it is slightly lower-end than the Xperia X Performance. The new phone is powered by hexa-core CPU with Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 chip. It works with a 2620mAh battery. The rest of the specs are the same as the Xeria X Performance. Xperia X comes in more color options, such as white, graphite black, rose gold and lime gold.
The third 5-incher in the new family of X-s is the Sony Xperia XA. It fascinates with an ultra-slim body with razor-thin side bezels. The diagonal of the display is 5-inches, while the resolution is 720p. The Xperia XA is powered by MedaTek MT6755 chip with 2GB RAM. It boasts 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded with up to 200GB of storage. It runs on the Marshmallow update by default. On the back camera of the smartphone is a 13MP sensor. The secondary snapper is an 8MP sensor on the front side. The Xperia XA works with a 2300mAh battery.
