The new ultra-slim smartphone with decent specs is official – Micromax Canvas Silver 5
Micromax announced a new extraordinary handset that claims the title “the thinnest smartphone without bumps.” Few hours ago Micromax Canvas Silver 5 was officially presented in India. It sports an ultra-thin panel – just 5.1mm. Some of the rivals of the handset like X5Max and Oppo R5 and thinner however the bump of the camera module sticks out. This is not the case with the Canvas Silver 5. The smartphone is outfitted with a 4.8-inch AMOLED screen. The resolution is not revealed yet but we do know that the display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Moving towards the internals of the handset we have a quad-core CPU with Snapdragon 410 chip and 2GB RAM. The mid-ranger has 16GB internal memory and a slot for microSD cards. Micromax Canvas Silver 5 is an Android-running device with Lollipop pre-installed on it. On the back of the mid-ranger is integrated a 8MP Sony IMX219 camera (no bumps from the camera module). The front panel hosts a 5MP secondary camera.
The connectivity capabilities of the new smartphone include support for 4G LTE. The cell integrated in the device is with a capacity of 2000mAh. Micromax Canvas Silver 5 is getting released in July. It cost INR 17999 (around $280) off-contract. Ultra-slim, ultra-light and armed with decent specs, the new player on the tech arena in India will definitely heat-up the competition between the Android-powered mid-rangers. Do you agree?
