Meizu m1 is the newest very affordable and very capable Android-powered smartphone
One of the most interesting events in the tech world scheduled for the end of January was hold by the Chinese manufacturer Meizu. Just as promised the company introduced the new smartphone Meizu m1 (known as Meizu Blue Charm) as a direct competitor to the Xiaomi Redmi 2 released earlier. The new handset stands out with a great package of specs and characteristics that come at very affordable price – only CNY 699 (around $110). At the Connected event Meizu kept the focus on the comparison between both rivals – Xioami Redmi 2 and Meizu m1.
The newly announced phone comes with a 5-inch display, 768 x 1280p resolution and pixel density of 300ppi. It is powered by an octa-core processor with MediaTek MT6732 with 64-bit architecture ticking at 1.5GHz. The rival Redmi 2 works with a similar processor clocked at 1.2GHz. In terms of RAM, the m1 is provided with 1GB while the Redmi 2 is packed with 2GB RAM. The storage integrated in the new phone is 8GB (expandable).
The platform pre-installed on Meizu Blue Charm (Meizu m1) is Android 4.4 KitKat, with Flyme 4 UI running on top of it, courtesy of Meizu. On the rear panel of the new device is equipped a 13MP camera. On the front side of the phone is set a 5MP camera. The battery of the Meizu m1 is with a capacity of 2610mAh. It supports Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G LTE connectivity. The affordable smartphone will be available for pre-orders on 5th of February in China.
The choice of colors for Meizu m1 includes yellow, blue, peppermint green, white, green and pink. There is a good chance to see the phone available for purchase in different markets worldwide through third-party retailers. The expectations suggest that it might cost slightly more expensive in Western Europe – around $150.
