New affordable smartphone on the horizon – Meizu K52 is expected to debut tomorrow
A new smartphone from Meizu will enter the mobile arena tomorrow, on 8th of December according to rumors. The source of the gossips is a recent interview of the VP Li Nan for the Chinese portal ZOL. The device was mentioned as a ‘quality smartphone’ that is purposed for young mobile users. The new handset is expected to be named Meizu K52. This is not the first time to hear rumors about the entry-level smartphone. Not long ago this model was spotted in the database of GFX Bench.
The specs of the unannounced device include a 4.6-inch screen, 1080p resolution. The database reveals that the Meizu K52 is running on Android 4.4.4 KitkKat OS. The processor that it integrated in the handset is octa-core MediaTek MT6752 clocked at 1.7GHz with 2GB RAM. It provides 12GB storage. The model supports LTE connectivity. The price of the upcoming smartphone is expected to be $1000 (equals $160). The rumor meal has not revealed yet any details for the cameras of the Meizu K52. The launch date and the availability of the model are still unknown. The expectations suggest that the model will hit the markets before the end of the year. There is a good chance that the phone supports dual-SIM.
One of the questions that Lan was asked in the interview was about the possibility for the company to release MX Mini series. He revealed that Meizu is not planning to release MX Mini because the 5.36-inch Meizu MX4 and the 5.5-inch MX4 Pro satisfy users’ needs.
