Say Hello to the new “specialist” smartphones of LG, X cam and X screen
Tech gigs, are you excited about the upcoming MWC 2016 event in Barcelona? LG spilled the beans for a new big announcement it is planning to make at the conference. The company will introduce a new line of smartphones “X” dubbed A “X cam” and “X screen” at MWC 2016. The mobile giant reveals that the new additions of the company are “designed for customers who do not want or need all the bells and whistles that come with today’s high-end phones but still desire a great camera or advanced display.” The X series consists of “specialist” phones that focus on one feature instead of providing a whole package of extra features, like the flagships.
Specs-wise, the LG X cam is a mid-ranger with a main focus on…. you probably guessed, the camera. It is packed with 5.2-inch, 1080p display. The processor that powers the smartphone is octa-core clocked at 1.14GHz, paired with 2GB RAM. It boasts 16GB of internal memory and supports microSD cards for a storage expansion. The software running on LG X cam is Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Now, the special about the model – the primary camera. It is a combo of a 13MP and 5MP sensors for “the most advanced camera experience in a mass-tier smartphone.” The secondary camera of the X cam is with 8MP on the front panel. The battery of the new device is a 2520mAh cell.
LG X screen is more compact device compared to its sibling. It is outfitted with a 4.93-inch HD primary screen and a 1.76-inch LCD secondary display with a resolution of 80 x 520. The secondary screen is located above the main display. Its purpose is to display notifications, the battery starts, the date and etc. Users can check the notifications without the need to activate the main screen. It is interesting how practical this feature will be for users. We have already seen a similar combo in the LG V10. On the inside, the LG X screen works with quad-core 1.2GHz processor. It boasts 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory. The cameras included in the device are a primary 13MP rear sensor and an 8MP camera on the front. It is powered by a 2300mAh battery. Just like the LG X cam, the X screen arrives with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS on board.
More about the new additions of LG will be revealed at MWC 2016. They are expected to go for sell in March. The smartphones will be launched in countries in Asia, Latin America and Europe. Prices are yet to be announced. What do you think of the new idea of LG of releasing “specialist” line of devices? Share with us.
