The rugged Kyocera Torque will land on markets across Europe soon
Kyocera is world-famous for its rugged smartphones with decent specs and capabilities. The biggest market for the devices of Kyocera is the US. With the latest smartphone however Kyocera is conquering markets across Europe as well. The phone is named Kyocera Torque. The handset has the same name as the smartphone of the company released two years ago by Sprint in the States. The new generation Kyocera Torque is purposed for the European markets.
In terms of appearance and specs it reminds to the recently launched Kyocera Brigadier. The new phone is packed with a 4.5-inch screen, 720p resolution. In the gut of the Torque is working a quad-core CPU 1.4GHz. It is paired with 1GB RAM. The cameras of the smartphone are an 8MP rear sensor with LED flash paired with 2MP camera on front. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. The new Kyocera Torque is powered by a 3100mAh cell. The panel of the rugged device has IPX5 and IPX8 certificates. This means that the phone can handle a dip into 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes. In addition the device is shock- and dustproof. It will survive to extreme temperatures as well.
Kyocera Torque will be presented at the MWC 2015 in Barcelona in the beginning of March. The countries where the phone is expected to be released are France and Germany. The price for the new handset is not unveiled yet.
