Sony Xperia Z5 goes official at IFA 2015

After weeks in waiting and abundance of rumors and leaks about the new flagships of Sony, the three new high-end smartphones were officially unveiled at IFA 2015 in Berlin. Sony Xperia Z5, Sony Xperia Z5 Compact and Sony Xperia Z5 Premium debuted at the big event and will go for sells in in ь few weeks from now.

Sony Xperia Z5 follows the tradition of the flagships from the Xperia Z line to boast the stunning OmniBalance design which makes the smartphones from the series distinctive and unique. Tapered metal frame and glass are the materials used for the manufacturing of Xperia Z5. Something different in the new flagship is the a power button that now has a fingerprint read integrated in it. As expected the all three new smartphones are water and dust-resistant with an IP68 certificate. The dimensions of the handset are: 146 x 72 x 7.3 mm, and weighs 154 grams.

The specs of the Sony Xperia Z5 do not disappoint fans who are expecting a high-end device that has pretty much everything. It comes with a 5.2-inch IPS LCD Triluminos display with 1080p resolution, which results in 423ppi pixel density. The excellent performance of the handset is achieved thanks to the octa-core CPU with 64-bit architecture and Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip. There are 3GB RAM and 32GB of expandable native memory. The platform that powers the Sony Xperia Z5 is Android 5.1 Lollipop.

The main camera of the smartphone is among its key features. It is a rear Sony Exmor RS sensor with 23MP resolution and 1/2.3-inch resolution. It boasts the fastest autofocus in smartphone camera – 0.03s. Among the features of the main camera are also 5x Clear Image Zoom, ISO12800 for pictures and the capability to record 4K video among other advantages. The secondary camera that lies on the front panel is with 5MP resolution, Exmor R sensor and 25mm wide-angle lens.

The new flagship of Sony is outfitted with a 2900mAh cell. The official specs of the phone claim that the battery can keep it running for up to two days in normal use. Sony Xperia Z5 is getting launched in a few weeks from now in four colors (at least) – green, black, white and gold. The retail price of the flagship is €700.
