Lenovo Vibe P1 and Vibe P1m go official packed with hefty batteries under the hood
It seems like yesterday we passed along the rumors about a new smartphone of Lenovo sporting a hefty 5000mAh cell in its gut. Fortunately the company did not leave us wait for the announcement of the device. At IFA 2015 Lenovo Vibe P1 and its sibling Lenovo Vibe P1m entered the tech arena.
Lenovo Vibe P1 is the larger model from the duo. It is outfitted with a 5.5-inch glass with 1080p resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 covering it for an extra protection. The smartphone is made of metal and glass and stands out with a stylish design. It is powered by octa-core CPU with Qulacomm Snapdragon 615 chip. There are 2GB RAM in the hardware configuration and 32GB of internal memory. The storage of Vibe P1 can be expanded via microSD cards. Android 5.1 Lollipop is running out-of-the-box on the phablet. The device boasts a 13MP main camera on the rear panel with autofocus phase detection coupled with a 5MP secondary snapper on the front side.
The battery of Lenovo Vibe P1 is with jaw-dropping 5000mAh. It should provide up to 81 hours of battery life according to Lenovo. The handset supports the Rocket Charge feature. Its function is to monitor the battery of the smartphone to prevent overheating. The charging is super fast – 3 hours of talk time for just 5 min charging. Lenovo Vibe P1 has dual-SIM capabilities. The handset supports a wide diversity of connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G and 4G LTE. It is getting launched next month for $280 retail price. The available colors of the Lenovo Vibe P1 will be Graphite Grey and Platinum. A fingerprint reader is integrated in the Home key button on the bottom of the front panel.
Lenovo Vibe P1m is smaller and more modest in terms of specs compared to the Vibe P1. The model comes with a 5-inch 720p display. It is made of polycarbonate with nano coat on the inner parts that makes them resistant to splashes. It is powered by a quad-core CPU with 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 chip clocked at 1GHz. The memory equipped with the smartphone Is 2GB RAM and 16GB storage (expandable). Just like its sibling, the Lenovo Vibe P1m runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. It comes with two cameras – a primary rear snapper with a resolution of 8MP and a secondary camera with 5MP. The new affordable handset works with a 4000mAh cell under the hood. It is a dual-SIM model. Lenovo Vibe P1m is LTE-enabled. The smartphone is getting released this month at a price of $160. The color options include Pearl White and Onyx Black.
