HTC officially introduced the new flagship HTC One M9
The rumors and leaks about the next flagship of HTC started appearing in the tech world not long after HTC One (M8) was officially released. The expectations towards the next star of the Taiwanese manufacturer are sky high. The interest towards the HTC One M9 was so big, that the smartphone was an object of numerous rumors and leaked images and specs that revealed a lot of the mystery about the device before it was presented officially. MWC 2015 is finally here and HTC unveiled its new flagship HTC One M9 just as planned. The rumors about a second device named HTC One M9 Plus that was expected to debut along with the original model did not turn out to be true. The single star under the spotlight is the high-end, premium looking HTC One M9.
In terms of design and appearance that new flagship reminds a lot to its predecessor HTC One (M8). It is outfitted with dual-tone metal unibody which is becoming a characteristic feature to the flagships of HTC that is much appreciated by users. The size of the panel of the One M9 measures 144.6 x 69.7 x 9.61mm. It is shorter and lighter than the last year’s flagship. At the same time, the new smartphone feels solid in the hand of the user and it is compact enough to be easy to carry even in pockets.
The new high-end handset is endowed with a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1080p. The hardware fitted in the device is the powerful new Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip. It is an octa-core processor – quad-core 2GHz Cortex-A57 and quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A53. The excellent performance of One M9 is achieved by the support of 3GB DDR4 RAM. It comes with 32GB native memory by default and, of course a slot for microSD cards that enable you to expand the storage to 128GB.
As expected the new flagship runs on the newest Google’s platform Android 5.0 Lollipop. It is customized by the new update of the UI of HTC, the Sense 7. The UI is completely revamped with significant improvement in the launcher and abundance of features for more fulfilling user experience.
The main camera of the HTC One M9 is made by Toshiba. It is a 20MP rear camera with 1/2.3-inch sensor with dual-LED dual-tone flash and 4K video recording. The lens is protected with sapphire glass that makes it resistant to scratches. On the front panel is outfitted a 4MP UltraPixel camera without autofocus. The battery of the flagship is with a capacity of 2840mAh. It is provided with a rich range of connectivity features, such as GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, NFC and support for 21 LTE bands. HTC is releasing the One M9 in Gun Metal Gray, Pink with Gold, Gold, Silver with Rose Gold color variants. The flagship will be on markets later this month.
