The first awesome thing about the handset is its extraordinary design with the so called by HTC “liquid surface.” The corpus of the smartphone is made of glass and has curved edges on the front side. Another special feature of the HTC U Ultra is its secondary display. It is positioned right above the main screen. The secondary display is 2.05-inch in diagonal, with a resolution of 160 x 1040 pixels. It provides an easy access to different app, shortcuts and notifications.

The primary screen of the U Ultra is 5.7-inch, 1440 x 2560p resolution. The smartphone is powered by octa-core processor with Snapdragon 821 chipset and 4GB RAM. It arrives with 64GB storage by default that easily can be expanded via microSD cards.

The software running on the HTC Ultra out-of-the-box is Android 7.0 Nougat. The interesting feature included by HTC is the Sense Companion AI assistant. The more you use the smartphone, the better the Sense Companion will learn about you and provide recommendations for the day. On the back panel of the smartphone is outfitted a 12MP snapper with laser autofocus, OIS, dual tone LED and phase detection autofocus. The front facing camera that lies near the secondary screen is a 16MP sensor.

HTC has added a fingerprint reader and 3.5mm headphone jack in the device. The battery of the U Ultra is with a capacity of 3000mAh. The price of the HTC U Ultra is $749 unlocked and compatible for the US carriers T-Mobile and AT&T. It is already up-for-pre-orders in the States.
