The entry-level Gionee F103 enters the tech arena
The China-based OEM Gionee has just introduced the Gionee F103. The special about the newcomer is that it is the first smartphone “made in India” of Gionee. In terms of specs the F103 is a low-end device. It is packed with a 5-inch IPS glass with a resolution of 720p. Under the hood of the smartphone is working a processor with four cores clocked at 1.3GHz. It has MediaTek MT6735 chip on board with a configuration with 2GB of RAM.
Gionee F103 is outfitted with 16GB internal memory. The device supports microSD cards for easy adding of more storage. Software-wise the entry-level handset is powered by Android Lollipop customized with Amigo 3.0 UI. The phone is equipped with an 8MP snapper on the rear panel coupled with a 5MP front-facing camera.
The new smartphone supports dual-SIM. It works with a 2400mAh cell in its gut. It is a basic Android-running handset that supports abundance of connectivity, like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G and 4G LTE. The price of the Gionee F103 is INR 9999 (equal to $155). It is offered in Dawn White, Pearl White and Black. The Gionee President William Lu reveals some of the plans of the company related to its manufacturing hub in India:
“We would be working towards making India a manufacturing hub for not just local consumption but also for nearby countries. Also, with local manufacturing, we are now keen on making India centric products.”
