Huawei officially presented MediaPad M2 10.0 tablet, and the mid-rangers GX8 and Honor 5X
Along with the new versions of the Huawei Nexus 6P and the smartwatch Huawei Watch, the Chinese manufacturer unveiled a tablet and re-introduced new smartphones at CES 2016. Both devices are getting launched in the US soon.
The tablet is named Huawei MediaPad M2 10.0. It is armed with a 10-inch screen, 1080p resolution. The body of the tablet is made of aluminum. It is powered by octa-core CPU in a configuration with Kirin 930 chip. The slate runs on Android OS. Huawei is releasing two versions of the tablet. One of the MediaPad M2 10.0 comes in a silver shell and boasts 2GB RAM/ 16GB storage. The second version of the tablet is adorned in gold color and comes with 3GB RAM/ 64GB native memory on board. Both models support microSD cards. The battery of the MediaPad M2 10.0 is a 6660 cell. The slate has a fingerprint sensor. The new tablet supports Wi-Fi. The back camera of the Huawei MediaPad M2 10.0 is with 13MP resolution. On the front side lies a 5MP camera for video calls. The slate more high-end model (in gold color) supports a stylus.
One of the new smartphones revealed by Huawei is Huawei GX8. It boasts very similar (if not the same) specs as some of the smartphones of the company that are already in the markets, like Huawei G8 and Huawei G7 Plus. It is made 90% of metal with stylish design and razor thin side bezels. It fascinates with a 5.5-inch FullHD screen. Under the hood of Huawei GX8 is ticking a 64-bit octa-core processor with Snapdragon 615 chipset. It is provided with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Expansion is enabled via microSD cards. The handset runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with EMUI 3.1 user interface. It is equipped with a fingerprint sensor. The new smartphone boasts a 13MP primary camera on the back and a 5MP secondary camera for selfies. It works with a 3000mAh battery. It supports 4G LTE. The mid-ranger is getting launched in the US in the Q1 of 2016. The price of the smartphone is $349.99. It will be offered in gold, grey and silver.
Huawei Honor 5X was presented at CES 2016 by the company. It sports more modest specs compared to its sibling, the GX8. The Honor 5X was officially revealed a while ago. The news about the device is that it is getting launched in the US. It fascinates with a medal panel and unibody design. On the back of the smartphone is provided a fingerprint sensor. The affordable mid-ranger has a 5.5-inch FullHD display. It is provided with Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chip. Memory-wise the handset arrives with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage (expandable). Huawei Honor 5X sports a 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture. The secondary camera is with a resolution of 5MP with f/2.4 aperture and wide angle lens with 22mm for capturing of panoramic selfies. The launch date of Huawei Honor 5X is 31st of January. It costs $199.99 and it will be offered in silver, grey and gold colors from retailers Newegg and Amazon US as well as from Huawei.
