Archos officially unveiled 2 new lines of smartphones, Power and Cobalt
The French manufacturer Archos made official two new lines of smartphones, Cobalt, focused on colors, and the Power line of handsets that include devices with large batteries.
The first members of the Cobalt series are the Archos 50 Cobalt and Archos 55 Cobalt +.
Archos 50 Cobalt is outfitted with a 5-inch IPS screen, resolution of 720 pixels. It is powered by MediaTek MT6535 chip coupled with 1GB RAM. There are 8GB storage on board which can be expanded via MicroSD cards. The main camera of the affordable handset is a rear 8MP sensor. 50 Cobalt supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G and 4G LTE Cat.4 connectivities. It features a 2000mAh battery. The price of the entry-level device is €99. It will be offered in dark gray and cobalt blue.
Archos 55 Cobalt + has a 5.5-inch HD display. Under the hood of the smartphone is provided MediaTek MT6535 chip and 2GB RAM. The native memory is double more than the storage in 50 Cobalt – 16GB out-of-the-box (expandable). On the back of 55 Cobalt + is set a 13MP camera with LED flash paired with 2MP front-facing camera. The device is powered by a 2700mAh battery. It costs €149 and it is expected to land on the markets this spring, in April.
Archos 40 Power is one of the first smartphones of the Power series. It is a low-end model with a compact panel. The screen of the 40 Power is with 40-inch diagonal and a resolution of 800 x 480p. In the gut of the device is provided a four core processor ticking at 1.2GHz with 512MB RAM. It works with Spreadtrum SC7731C chip. The included storage in the device is 8GB. It supports microSD cards for expansion. The two cameras equipped with the handset are a 5MP primary rear snapper with LED flash, and a 2MP camera on the front side.It comes with a 1900mAh cell in its gut. The connectivity supported by the smartphone include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and 3G. The price of the entry-level smartphone is €49.99.
Archos 50 Power is the larger smartphone of the new duo. It is packed with a 5-inch IPS screen, HD resolution. In the gut of the handset is ticking a quad-core processor with MediaTek MT6735 chip and 2GB RAM. It features 16GB of native memory (expandable). The primary camera of the device is a 13MP snapper with LED flash. It is 4G LTE-enabled. The battery of the new smartphone is with a capacity of 4000mAh. The price of the Archos 50 Power is €129.99. The first smartphone of the Power series will be up-for-sells in May.
