The rugged smartphones Cat S40 and S30 are up-for-sells
Cat is one of the most famous manufacturers of rugged smartphones that can survive in really rough conditions. The latest news from the company is the releasing of the Cat S40 and Cat S30 that debuted earlier this year. They are “dressed” in rugged cases with IP68 certificate and MIL-SPEC 810 G. This means that the smartphones are tough enough to survive dipping in 1.8 meters deep water and even drops on hard surfaces, like concrete.
Cat S40 was unveiled this summer. It is a 4.7-incher with IPS glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on top. The resolution of the display is 960 x 540p. It works with Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 chip with 1GB RAM in the configuration. The S40 arrives with 16GB native memory out-of-the-box. MicroSD cards can be used for expansion of the storage. On the rear side of the panel of the rugged smartphone is provided an 8MP camera. The battery of Cat S40 is with a capacity of 3000mAh. The price of the rugged handset is €439.
Cat S30 features a 4.5-inch screen with a resolution of 854 x 480p. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 chip with 1GB RAM. The storage in the device is 16GB (expandable). It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The main camera of S30 is with 5MP. It works with a 3000mAh battery like its sibling. The price of Cat S30 is €329.
