One of the most rumored and discussed flagships this summer was the square-shaped BlackBerry Passport. In the end of September the anticipated phone was officially introduced. It comes in a panel with dimensions 128 x 90.3 x 9.3 mm and unique QWERTY keyboard. It has 3 rows and doubles as a trackpad which is something new for the models of BlackBerry and the tech world in general. The diagonal of the LCD screen of BlackBerry Passport is 4.5-inch. It is well protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and boasts a resolution of 1440x1440p. The newly released phone is powered by quad-core silicon set at 2.26GHz in configuration with Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chip integrated under the hood and 3GB RAM provided in the device.

The storage that users get out-of-the-box with the new model is 32GB. The slot for microSD cards that is assured in the gut of the phone assures the option for expansion of the memory. BlackBerry Passport is the most high-end flagship of the company and as expected it runs on the latest update of the platform – BlackBerry 10.3 OS. There are loads of noteworthy features in the upgrade, such as the support for BlackBerry Assistant. It arrives armored with a 13MP camera with LED flash, OIS, autofocus and the capabilities to record 1080p@60fps video. It is paired with the front camera for video calls with 2MP resolution. It is powered by a cell with 3450mAh capacity. The BlackBerry Passport supports LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC etc.

The newly launched phone is coming to markets worldwide. The retail price of the phone is around $599. It is offered by carriers with two year contact for $250. The main colors that adorn the BlackBerry Passport are black and white. Thanks to CrackBerry we can share the rumors that a new variant of the flagship is coming soon. Recently a red BlackBerry Passport was spotted on the site of the online retailer Amazon. According to the listing it will be available for purchase right on Christmas – 25th of December. The depicted device on the photo shared by CrackBerry we can see the red keyboard of the flagship with the black frame. The phone definitely looks appealing, do you agree?
