Gionee unveiled the new impressive flip phone, Gionee W909

Flip phones yay or nay? If you feel nostalgic for the trend for clamshell phones, Gionee has a nice surprise for you – a brand new flip phone packed with awesome specs. Say Hello to Gionee W909. The handset is outfitted with two 4.2-inch IPS LCD displays with 720p resolution. The processor integrated in the premium device is with MediaTek Helio P10 chip and eight-core CPU. It is backed up by 4GB RAM.

The storage included in the Gionee W909 by default is 64GB. There is a microSD slot for cards that enabled easy expansion of the storage. In terms of software, the new flip phone is powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop. The company has customized it with its Amigo UI. The primary camera of the new addition of Gionee is a 16MP rear sensor. The selfie camera is with a resolution of 5MP. The battery that is tucked under the hood of the flip phone is a 2530mAh.

It seems that the interest towards the flip phones is going steady in China and other countries in Asia. The South Koreans manufacturers LG and Samsung also enriched their collections of clamshell devices not long ago. We will wait and see how well the Gionee W909 will be accepted by the audience. The price of the smartphone is CNY 4000 (around $615).
