Asus ZenFone Selfie is the new selfie-focused mid-ranger
This week is happening one of the biggest events in the digit world Computex in Taipei, Taiwan. It is a 5 day exhibition that will continue from 2nd to 6th of June. Manufacturers of IT products from worldwide are presenting their newest devices and tech at Computex. The Taiwanese OEM Asus is preparing a nice bunch of devices to showcase at the event.
Some of the new additions of the company are 4 tablets, a smartwatch and a selfie-oriented smartphone that will be displayed and presented in details in the next days. The new handset of Asus is named Asus ZenFone Selfie. It sports similar specs to the rival HTC Desire EYE. The smartphone is outfitted with a 5.5-inch IPS LCD glass with a resolution of 5.5-inch and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 with oleophobic coating. In the gut of the mid-ranger is ticking Snapdragon 615 chip with eight cores. The configuration is completed with Adreno 405 GPU for the graphics and two options for the RAM – 2GB or 4GB. The native memory provided in the model is 16 GB, 32GB or 64GB. Asus ZenFone Selfie debuts with Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed.
The cameras are what make the smartphone special. It is packed with a 13MP rear sensor and a 13MP front-facing camera with lots of capabilities and features that bring excellent performance for taking selfies. The back snapper has F/2.0 aperture with 28mm lens. The key feature – the front-facing shooter has 88 degree wide angle, F/2.2 aperture and 24mm wide-angle lens. Both cameras have dual-LED flash an autofocus.
Asus offers the accessory Swing for this model that helps for adjusting the selfie angle and it can be used as a kickstand. The battery of the Asus ZenFone Selfie is a 3000mAh cell. The smartphone supports all the connectivity features that are expected for a handset in this category, including 4G LTE. It is announced in three color variants – Aqua Blue, Pure White and Chic Pink. Asus is yet to reveal more details about the launching and the price of the new selfie-oriented smartphone. Stay tuned.
