iOS 9 is officially launched
One of the most anticipated events by Apple’s fans is the launching of the iOS 9. The new update of the mobile platform was announced this summer, but the official rolling-out of the software began yesterday. If you are using an iPhone 4S or a newer smartphone or iPad 2, iPad mini or newer or iPod touch 5th or 6th generation, you will be getting the iOS 9 really soon. In case you can’t wait any longer, you can install it manually. Check for updates by going to Settings > General > Software Update. You should see the iOS 9 update listed in the menu. It is around 1.3GB big.
iOS 9 is not a major upgrade of the platform, but it definitely has a lot of new features to offer to Apple’s users. For example, the virtual assistant Siri is improved, the feature split-screen is included. There is a new News app and new Wallet app. The Notes app works better than ever and now supports options like adding maps, photos, and even sketches. In terms of interface and appearance, the iOS 9 reminds a lot of iOS 8. The new update brings some special iPad-features, such as the Slide Over which allows viewing few selected apps on the side of the screen, Picture in Picture for video chats etc.
The update watchOS 2.0 was supposed to get released along with the iOS 9 however a bug found in the last minute is delaying the rolling-out. Apple is already working on it, so it won’t be long until the new software for the Apple Watch is ready for release.
