Amazon officially unveiled a bunch of new tablets, including Two Fire HD Tablets, Amazon Fire Slate for $50 and a New Kids Edition

This week Amazon presented four new tablets. Two of them belong to the Fire HD line, one of the new tablets is the rumored ultra-cheap slate that costs only $50 and the fourth device is the new Fire Kids Edition.

The more advanced tablets from the new additions of Amazon are the Amazon Fire HD 8.0 and the Amazon Fire HD 10.1. The numbers in the names relate to the diagonals of the screens of the models. In terms of specs the duo shares similar features and capabilities. They boast a resolution of 800 x 1280p. The model processor equipped with the Fire HD tablets is with four cores and MediaTek chip paired with 1GB RAM. The slates support microSD cards. They are provided with a 5MP rear camera in each of them and more modest 720p snapper on front. Both new Fire HD slates sport very slim bodies – only 7.7mm thick. The software running on the devices is Fire OS 5 Bellini based on Android Lollipop. They support Wi-Fi connectivity.

The main differences between the two tablets are the provided storage – the Amazon Fire HD 8.0 arrives with two options of memory – 8GB and 16GB, while the Amazon Fire HD 10.1 will be available with 16GB and 32GB native memory. The colors of the 8-incher are blue, tangerine, magenta and black. The larger model will be offered in black and white shells. Amazon has scheduled the pre-orders for the tablets for 30th of September. The 8-incher costs $149.99 for the 8GB variant and $169.99 for the slate with 16GB. The Fire HD 10.1 costs $229.99 for the 16GB and $259.99 for the 32GB model.

One of the most impressive tablets of Amazon is the Amazon Fire. It is an entry-level device that costs only $49.99 which makes it one of the cheapest tablets on the market today. The specs of the device include a 7-inch display with a resolution of 600 x 1024p. It is powered by a quad-core CPU coupled with 1GB RAM. The primary camera of the Amazon Fire is a 2MP rear sensor and a secondary VGA camera lying on the front panel. The new tablet boasts 8GH of native memory and a slot for microSD cards. It runs on Fire OS 5 Bellini based on Lollipop of Android. The tablet will go for pre-orders on September 30th. It comes in black.
