Lenovo introduced a bunch of new devices at CES 2015 – Lenovo Vibe X2 Pro, P90, the YOGA Tablet 2, Vibe Band VB10 and Vibe Xtension Selfie Flash
Lenovo is one of the participants in the CES 2015 in Las Vegas that announced a wide range of new devices including smartphones, a tablet, a smartband and accessories. The new additions of the company are the handsets Lenovo Vibe X2 Pro and Lenovo P90, the smart band Lenovo Vibe Band VB10, the accessory for flash of a phone dubbed Lenovo Vibe Xtension Selfie Flash and the tablet Lenovo YOGA Tablet 2.
Lenovo Vibe X2 Pro is the successor of the Vibe X2 released in the end of 2014. In terms of design and appearance the Vibe X2 Pro reminds a lot to the original model. It is outfitted with a metal corpus and sports the characteristic layered look of its predecessor. The size of the screen of the new phone is 5.3-inch, 1080p resolution. Under the hood of the Vibe X2 Pro is provided octa-core silicon with Cordex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz. The chip integrated in the device is with 64-bit architecture, Qualcomm Snapdragon 615. There are 2GB RAM on board that help for the excellent performance of the hardware. It has a microSD slot under the hood that can be used for expansion of the 32GB storage assured out-of-the-box. The phone is powered by Vibe UI 2.0 over the Google’s platform Android 4.4 KitKat. The expectations suggest that Lenovo will update the device to Android 5.0 Lollipop by the time it is landing on the markets. The duo cameras equipped in the Vibe X2 Pro is among the key features of the model. It comes with two 13MP snappers. The rear sensor has LED flash while the front-facing camera is lacking one.
For those who prefer to use LED flash with the secondary camera, Lenovo is providing the new accessory named Lenovo Vibe Xtension Selfie Flash. It is pretty easy to use – just plug it in the 3.5mm jack of the phone and it illuminates for the perfect selfie. The accessory is compatible with different Android-running smartphones, so if taking selfies is one of your passions, don’t hesitate to buy one. It is launching in April at the modest price of $29.
Lenovo Vibe X2 Pro is provided with a 2410mAh cell. The connectivity capabilities of the phone include the standard features and LTE Cat.4. The launching of the handset is expected in April. It will cost $499 off-contract. Lenovo is releasing the new smartphone in different colors – Rock Pink, Electric Blue and Champagne Gold. Vibe X2 Pro is a dual-SIM device.
Lenovo P90 is the larger smartphone of the new additions. It sports a 5.5-inch LCD display, 1080p resolution. The heart of the new model is a quad-core 1.83GHz processor with 64-bit architecture and 2GB RAM. The provided storage is 32GB. It works on Android 4.4 KitKat which should be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop at release. The back camera is the primary snapper with 13MP, OIS and LED flash. The front camera is a ton-facing 5MP sensor. The P90 has a large 4000mAh battery that provides enough power for the phablet to work for a whole day in normal usage. The P90 has dual-SIM capabilities but only supports LTE only with one of the SIM. The colors that adorn the new phone are Lava Red, Pearl White and Onyx Black. Release is expected in February, at retail price of $369.
Lenovo Vibe Band VB10 is the wearable addition of the company presented at CES 2015. It is packed with an e-ink screen with 230ppi and the capabilities to display 150 characters. The smartband displays notifications, updates for social media, alerts for incoming calls etc. The Vibe Band VB10 monitors fitness indexes. When it is synced in with your smartphone, it can help you find it. In terms of battery life, this wearable device can work for up to seven days before it needs recharging. The smartband is coming to markets in April at price of $89.
Last but not least from the new additions of Lenovo is the tablet YOGA Tablet 2. It is provided with a 8-inch IPS screen with 1080p resolution and the AnyPen Tech. The special about this technology is that it allows different metal objects to be used as stylus (like a fork for example). The slate works with a quad-core CPU with 64-bit architecture and Intel Atom chip. It has 2GB RAM and 32GB internal memory. The camera on the rear panel is with 8MP resolution. The front-facing shooter is with 1.6MP. The tablet runs on Windows 8.1 OS. It is powered by a battery with impressive capacity of 6400mAh. It is equipped with stereo speakers Dolby Audio and Wolfson amplification. The launching of the YOGA Tablet 2 is scheduled for this month. The expected price is very tempting – $299 off-contract.
